After West Side Story, Steven Spielberg turns to a personality of choice to enhance the cast of his new feature film, The Fabelmans.

While West Side Story, released on December 8, is still showing, Steven Spielberg already has his eyes turned to the future… or rather, to the past. Indeed, ET’s dad is currently making a film freely inspired by his childhood in Arizona, The Fabelmans.

It is Gabriel LaBelle who lends his features to the young Spielby. He gives the reply to Paul Dano and Michelle Williams, who play his parents. Seth Rogen (Pam and Tommy) and Julia Butters (Once Upon A Time In Hollywood) are also there.

If the story of the film is still relatively vague, we already know that it will relate the divorce of the parents of little Steven. This trauma will be transformed into a source of inspiration for ET and will infuse all his work.

DAVID LYNCH CHEZ SPIELBERG

According to Variety, the legendary director of Jurassic Park has hired a fellow director for a role kept secret. This new name joining the cast of The Fabelmans is none other than David Lynch, legendary author of Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive or the Twin Peaks series.

The filmmaker has more than one string to his bow. In addition to his talent behind the camera, he also knows how to act. We remember in particular his colorful interpretation of FBI agent Gordon Cole in Twin Peaks. He also appeared in his own movies like Elephant Man or Dune.

For The Fabelmans, Steven Spielberg took up his pen again to write the screenplay. He had not played the game since AI Artificial Intelligence in 2001. The director co-wrote this story with Tony Kushner, with whom he has already worked on his films West Side Story, Munich and Lincoln.

The feature film will be released on November 23, 2022 in the USA. For France, we will have to wait a little longer before knowing more.

When they were released, these films did not leave anyone indifferent. From “Fight Club” to “Inception” via “Mother!”, focus on 5 divisive films, available on the Netflix platform.

FIGHT CLUB (1999)

Splendor Films

Fight Club is the story of the narrator (Edward Norton), without a precise identity, who lives alone, works alone, sleeps alone, eats his meal trays alone for one person like many other single people who experience misery. human, moral and sexual. One day, he joins a clandestine fighting club created by the enigmatic and unconventional Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt).

When it hit theaters in 1999, David Fincher’s controversial Fight Club, adapted from Chuck Palahniuk’s novel, has strongly divided, some being immediately enthusiastic about this satire of the consumer society, while others, on the other hand, did not adhere to it at all.

“Boxing clubs are a place to reclaim masculinity. This film aims to show the damage that modern society inflicts on young men”, said David Fincher about this now cult film, but which was a resounding failure at the box office. “The evolutionary process that transforms ‘predatory DNA’ into ‘gregarious DNA’ can only be painful. In Fight Club, the quest for a manly sanctuary within such a society takes on a destructive form.”

INCEPTION (2010)

Warner Bros. France

Instead of stealing a dream, an experienced thief and his team must do the opposite: plant an idea in an individual’s mind. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime…

Nolan, fascinated by dreams, looks back on the period during which he imagined Inception. “I was then fascinated by dreams and by the relationship between our daytime life and our nightlife”, says the filmmaker. “The fact that the elements of a dream – whether distressing, joyful or supernatural – are produced by our own minds has always struck me as an interesting paradox: what this reveals about the potential of the imaginary is absolutely extraordinary. I started to think about how we could use that in a spectacular action film with a very human dimension.”

S.O.S. FANTUMBRELLAMY (2016)

Sony Pictures Releasing GmbH

In 2016, Paul Feig, director of the cult comedy My Best Friends, seized on a myth: the Ghostbusters saga. Her feature film is a female reboot, led by Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. Even if the film benefits from the wink appearances of Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd, it is far from unanimous among fans of the ectoplasmic saga.

Shortly after confirmation that Ghostbusters would be an 100% female reboot disconnected from the previous episodes, Ernie Hudson did not, for example, hesitate to give his opinion on what he considers to be “a bad idea.” According to the interpreter of Winston Zeddemore, “if it has nothing to do with the two previous films, and there are only women, why call it Ghostbusters? (…) I think it would be a mistake to make a new movie without the guys.”

MOTHER! (2017)

Paramount Pictures

Each work by Darren Aronofsky is talked about a lot, whether it’s Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan or The Fountain. Worn by Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem, the feature film Mother! is no exception to the rule. This thriller, which follows a couple whose relationship is challenged by the arrival of unexpected guests who disturb their peace, was strongly divided when it was released in theaters.

Darren Aronofsky came up with the idea for this intimate thriller during five frenetic days he spent alone at his computer in an isolated house. It was in parallel with his anxieties about today’s world and his deeply gloomy vision of today’s society that he came up with the idea for the film.

“We live in crazy times”, says the filmmaker. “As we will soon be eight billion human beings on Earth, we must face difficulties whose magnitude we do not yet measure.”

“Ecosystems are collapsing and species are disappearing at an unprecedented rate, the migrant crisis is turning states upside down, the visibly schizophrenic US government ratifies a landmark climate change agreement, then reverses itself a few months later, ancestral tribal conflicts and ancient beliefs always fuel war and hatred…”, he lists.

Note that Jennifer Lawrence was so stressed on the set of Mother! that she suffered from hyperventilation and damaged a rib. The actress admitted that the shooting of this film was the most difficult of her career.

MAN OF STEEL (2013)

Warner Bros. France

A little boy discovers he has supernatural powers and was not born on Earth. Later, he embarks on a journey to understand where he comes from and why he was sent to our planet. But he will have to become a hero if he wants to save the world from total destruction and embody hope for all humanity. Does that remind you of something ?

Almost nine years (already!) after its theatrical release, Man of Steel, a reboot of the adventures of Superman, still arouses so many mixed opinions among superheroic fans. Generous but imperfect, the feature film by Zack Snyder continues to be debated, while the character played on screen by Henry Cavill has continued his merry way in the Justice League. And you, what do you think ?

The American director and artist joins the cast of The Fabelmans, an autobiographical film by Steven Spielberg. David Lynch’s latest feature film, Inland Empire, dates back to 2007.

The Fabelmans will mark the first collaboration between the two giants of American cinema, Steven Spielberg (ET the Extra-Terrestrial, Indiana Jones, Schindler’s List) et David Lynch (Elephant Man, Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive). Lynch, whose screen appearances are still relatively rare, thus joins an already well-rounded cast: Michelle Williams and Paul Dano, who will play the parents of Sammy Fabelman (Spielberg’s alter ego inspired by his childhood in Arizona), while Seth Rogen will play his favorite uncle. Lynch’s role, however, is kept secret. It is neither more nor less than the first film since AI: Artificial Intelligence (2001) for which Spielberg signs the screenplay, with the support of the famous playwright Tony Kushner (Munich, Lincoln, West Side Story), who received a Pulitzer Prize for his play Angels in America (1991). The output of The Fabelmans is scheduled for November 23 in the United States.

Outstanding filmmaker David Lynch won the Palme d’Or in 1990 for Sailor & Lula. Apart from the sinking of the adaptation of Dune in 1984, Lynch’s films are considered surrealist masterpieces and have left a lasting mark on the imagination of moviegoers: Lost Highway, Blue Velvet, Eraserhead, or the cult series Twin Peaks (HBO). But his last film, Inland Empire (2007) ended in commercial failure and led the director to devote himself to other activities: photography, lithographs, music, painting, but also transcendental meditation, which he taught to disadvantaged students and victims of stress. post-traumatic through the David Lynch Foundation… In 2007, an exhibition – The Air is on Fire – is dedicated to him at the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art. In 2011, the filmmaker released his first solo album, Crazy Clown Time, then a second in 2013, The Big Dream. It will be necessary to wait until 2017 to see Lynch return behind the camera with the third season of Twin Peaks, of which he directs the 18 episodes.

Last I heard, Lynch was set to potentially direct a new original series for Netflix, Unrecorded Night, but it’s not impossible that the streaming giant simply canceled the project.

This week on Masculine, find Kapten & Son watches, the beautiful new Taschen book on the 100 films of the 2010s and Pale Blue, a great innovation on the rechargeable battery market..

In “Our beautiful finds”, Masculin selects each week products that we liked and which have just arrived on the market. Good discovery !

Kapten & Son watch: a unisex treasure

Minimalist design, timeless style, affordable prices: Kapten & Son ticks all the boxes for the trendy accessories brand. And it works, since, in just a few years, it has become essential on the stylewatch cheap, alongside heavyweights like Daniel Wellington, Ice Watch, Briston…

Founded by three German students in 2014, Kapten & Son also offers bags, glasses, jewelry, but it is its watches that are a hit in France. And the newcomer should only confirm this success: called Trésor, this unisex watch sports a rectangular case in gold or silver steel measuring 26 x 34mm. The dial, very minimalist in appearance, catches the eye with its delicate reflections, its stick indexes and its only two Roman numerals (VI and XII).

Driven by a Ronda movement, Kapten & Son’s new creation is priced at €199.90 in jewelry and watch stores, on the brand’s website and e-shops like AboutYou.

100 films of the 2010s, the essential Taschen book for film lovers

Beautiful books, at Taschen, we know. The famous publishing house often publishes richly illustrated works on the fields of art, architecture, design, photography… And every 10 years, it fixes a regular meeting for cinema lovers, with a book listing the 100 best films of the past decade.

If Avatar had had the honors of the 2000s, it is indeed the Joker camped by Joaquin Phoenix that we recognize on the cover of the 100 films of the 2010s. Almost obvious as Todd Philips’ feature film is one of the most highlights of recent years.

As always, Jürgen Müller and his team of authors know how to show a great diversity, evoking Mad Max Fury Road as well as Moonlight, Blackkklansman or Moi Tonya.

With its 736 pages, this book is therefore a must have for any self-respecting cinephile. Its price: 40 euros, at all good booksellers of course (from February 23, 2022)!

Book Taschen 100 films of the 2010s

Pale Blue: revolution in the rechargeable battery market

OK, put like that, talking about rechargeable batteries doesn’t sound very glamorous. Still, the Pale Blue innovation is definitely worth talking about. Behind this name hides an American brand founded in 2019 by 3 entrepreneurs. Its specialty: revolutionary rechargeable batteries, combining technology, performance and durability.

What makes Pale Blue batteries different from their traditional competitors? They do not need an adapter to recharge them but a simple micro-USB cable… like the one on your smartphone! More environmentally friendly, this new generation of lithium-ion polymer batteries recharges 5 times faster than conventional accumulators (barely 1h30 for the AAA batteries tested) while providing higher power.

USB rechargeable up to 1000 times (without losing their efficiency according to the manufacturer), they offer an excellent lifespan. They are found in the most common formats: LR03 (AAA) LR6 (AA), LR14, LR20 and 6LR61 (9V). And if the starting price is a little more expensive (from €29.99 on Amazon, Boulanger, Greenweez, Au Vieux Campeur…), the Pale Blue batteries seem to pay for themselves quite quickly!

Great Freedom ***

De Sebastian Meise with Franz Rogowski, Georg Friedrich. 1h56.

Anton von Lucke and Franz Rogowski in “Great Freedom”.

(buccaneer film raw film)

Although the law punishes homosexuality with imprisonment in post-war Germany, Hans Hoffmann refuses to give up loving men. Behind bars, he bonds with Viktor, a common law prisoner… In an almost dystopian world, whose tension evokes 1984, we find ourselves, like the hero of the film, taken hostage in an endless time loop: the decades go by, but the walls of the jails, the little arrangements with the guards, the tips for spending a night with your lover or the moments of discouragement remain the same. Behind the brutal prison drama that depicts a mental and physical power struggle, poignant love stories emerge, universal in their intensity and accuracy. With a lot of disenchantment and an unbearable irony marked up to the title, the prison becomes a space of “tremendous freedom”, the only place where Hans can allow himself to be himself. B.T.

The Innocents ***

D’Eskil Vogt, with Rakel Lenora Fløttum and Alva Brynsmo Ramstad. 1h57.

“The Innocents”.

(The Bookmakers / Kinovista)

Children from a city in Oslo realize that they can control the minds of adults… We fell in love with this fantastic drama about the murderous odyssey of kids who fill boredom by taking revenge on those who oppress them . The Norwegian Eskil Vogt, screenwriter very inspired by Julie in 12 chapters (2021) impresses with its mastery, in the service of a subject as singular as it is relevant when it denounces group violence in an atmosphere worthy of the Village of the Damned (1995), by Carpenter. Prize from the critics and the public at the Gérardmer Festival. S.B.

State Scandal Investigation **

By Thierry de Peretti, with Roschdy Zem, Pio Marmaï, Vincent Lindon. 2:03.

Roschdy Zem in "State Scandal Investigation".

Roschdy Zem in “Investigation into a State Scandal”.

(Les Films Velvet)

Paris, October 2015. After the seizure of seven tons of cannabis, Hubert Antoine, a former infiltrator of the anti-narcotics office, contacts a journalist from Release. He accuses his former employer, commissioner Jacques Billard, of getting involved in trafficking under the guise of a drug strategy. This third film by Thierry de Peretti, with its incessant discussions, its uncertain rhythm and its starkness, is demanding. It is no less captivating and fascinating, like the real François Thierry affair on which it is based. In the end, it is less the facts in themselves that seem to interest the director than the obsession of his improbable duo to make them public. The ambiguous relationship, made up of ongoing friendship, common determination and more or less converging interests, enlivens this sinuous and immersive story that favors the complexity of reality rather than the search for the only truth. As an ex-infiltrator full of himself, Roschdy Zem is impressive. Bap.T.

Golda Maria **

By Patrick and Hugo Sobelman. 1h55.

In 1994 the producer Patrick Sobelman filmed three days during his grandmother in a static shot, like Jacques Lanzmann for Shoah (1985). And for good reason… Survivor of the camps, she recounts her destiny as a Jew born on the borders of Poland and Germany in 1910, revives the memories of her French life until her deportation, in which she lost her son and several relatives. . This appalling testimony, shot in poor quality video, takes the form of a universal documentary enriched with striking archives. Poignant, captivating, the old lady speaks of her need to deliver the visions of horror that she has suppressed for too long. A.C.

You only want me **

By Claire Simon with Swann Arlaud and Emmanuelle Devos, 1h35.

Emmanuelle Devos and Swann Arlaud in

Emmanuelle Devos and Swann Arlaud in “You only want me”

(The Afternoon Movies)

The last companion of Marguerite Duras suffered from his exclusive relationship with his idol, a ruthless dominatrix. Suicidal, he confided in his friend Michèle Manceaux but the interview book remained unpublished for a long time (I would like to talk about Duras, 2016). It takes shape in the cinema thanks to the documentary filmmaker Claire Simon who, here, uses fiction to create the missing archive. Accomplices and composed, the actors engage in the sequence shot with enough silences and precautions for us to take the measure of this dizzying intimate confession, which reveals a Duras capable of the worst: violence, humiliation, homophobia… A.C.

White Snake **

De Amp Wong et Ji Zhao. 1h38.

“White Snake”

(Light Chaser Animation Studios Warner Bros.)

In China, the emperor yearns for eternal life. A mountain villager discovers a young woman with amnesia… This ambitious adventure story fuses tragic romanticism with tiger and dragon (2000) and martial arts film with magic and fantastic creatures, in the great tradition of Shaw Brothers productions of the 1960s. In particular by revisiting the myth of the white snake in a sprawling scenario. We stop in front of the sumptuous graphics, the artists of the Beijing Light Chaser studio meticulously restoring the grandiose landscapes of the Hunan region, which also inspired Avatar (2009). S.B.

Bulado **

D’Eche Janga, with Everon Jackson Hooi. 1h37.

“Bulado”.

(The courtyard films)

Kenza lives on the island of Curaçao with her father, a rational policeman, and her grandfather who tries to preserve their ancestral culture. Two visions of the world with which she must compose while entering adolescence. If the conflict between modernity and mysticism is nothing new, like the generational quarrels that surround it, this lovely film seduces with its poetic-sensory approach. The director, skillfully taking advantage of the splendid landscapes, summons the elements to adopt the sensations and perceptions of his young heroine. And delivers a captivating initiatory story on the weight of history, mourning, transmission and the quest for self. Bap.T.

Moonfall **

By Roland Emmerich, with Halle Berry and Patrick Wilson. 2h.

“Moonfall”.

(Metropolitan FilmExport)

After serious damage during a space mission, two astronauts discover that the Moon has left its orbit and is heading towards the Earth… Roland Emmerich, with a decidedly overflowing imagination, signs a sum-film which brings together his visions of the end of the world. Result: a completely uninhibited entertainment, which is concerned neither with coherence nor with verisimilitude. A generous and enjoyable show of massive destruction, which continues the German director’s reflection on solidarity between peoples, with a deluge of special effects. S.B.

The stars *

By Jonathan Barré with Grégoire Ludig, David Marsais. 1h26.

“The stars”.

(ÉGENDE FILMS – BLAGBUSTER – GAUMONT – TF1 FILMS PRODUCTION – C2M PRODUCTIONS)

A failed singer decides to return to the spotlight by using the talent of a colleague, capable of memorizing the price of household appliances: the sesame to become the new champion of a popular game show… The Palmashow band returns to the cinema for a schoolboy but well-regarded satire on the ruthless world of the media. We have fun with the ill-matched tandem formed by the former crooner in search of success (the nonchalant Grégoire Ludig) and the model employee awaiting promotion (the candid David Marsais). Some lines really make you laugh, but the staging lacks the inventiveness to support the rhythm of the comedy. B.T.

Adja, 18, lives in a city of Villejuif. She gradually falls in love with Arthur, a young zadist fighting against the construction of a shopping center. This story of ecological awareness has the originality of combining environmental and social issues in the Parisian suburbs. Sewn with white thread, a little caricatural in places, this first film is no less pleasant and carried by the beautiful energy of its young actress, Tracy Gotoas, impeccable in flower of the asphalt with a strong character. Less than six minutes during which the Langres of the past comes alive. It is the moving result of the restoration of a promotional film dating from 1925.

“At 7, 8 years old, I jumped on Marlene Dietrich’s lap”. The brat was then at the Chavannes boys’ school. “A guy came to school. He wanted three kids…”. This is how the young Pierre rose to the place of king: the man who came from nowhere made him appear in Martin Roumagnac, which Georges Lacombe will shoot. In 1946, with Jean Gabin, Queen Dietrich towed the poster. It was “in the 80s” that Pierre slipped this memory to his friend, the head of the city’s cultural department, Chantal Andriot. “We talked about films… and I started looking for feature films, amateur works shot in the city…”. With, in sight, the preparation of the Centenary of the cinema in 1995. Soon, good pick, Chantal Andriot will unfold an unknown local history. When the friend Michèle Gautier informs him of the existence of a box, in which old films are stored. He survived the move of the tourist office, which left its dedicated pavilion in Place Bel’air in 1992 – where the public toilets are today. Its manager Gérard Féron had warned. “There are boxes with reels in bags, you must not open them: there are flame films*”. Carefully, Chantal Andriot sinks her hand into the pockets. Extract a film… with explosive potential. Without touching it, she takes it to the Parisian laboratory Neyrac, a restoration specialist.

“A Gem”

The laboratory reveals the film: shot in black and white, it is silent, it is a small format of 5’30 which dates from 1925. The boxes – our current title banks – are signed Edition Natura films. To be able to read them, they are duplicated. “Before, we projected at 18 frames per second, they were transformed into 24 frames per second”. So, at the same time, to slow down… the steps of the characters, which nevertheless remain a little jerky. The 35 mm video copy goes to Langres, the original to the film archives of the national cinema center in Bois d’Arcy (Yvelines). It’s simple: “it’s a gem”.

Third life

“In 2007, Pierre Boespflug, in artistic residence in Langres, composed music for these silent images”. The flame film adventure continues… Indeed, “at the time, musicians accompanied the screenings…”. The composer works with the municipal harmony. In May 2008, year of the Tourist Office’s Centenary, “Langres 1925” was screened in the theatre, with the accompaniment of the musicians. Something to spur on the director of the municipal music school Marc Simonnot – his score will be for two pianos. Coincidence falls on time, the music festival celebrates the centenary of the first film music. Saturday, June 21, 2008, the screening, repeated four times in the courtyard of the cloister of Saint-Mammès, was a hit: 1,500 people attended.

The machine dreams that work will it restart when “Langres 1925”, will catch hundred years ?

these films on celluloid support, which therefore date from before the 1940s, take their name from the gas they produce, which is flammable in contact with air.

Chantal Andriot was able to reconstruct the adventure of making this film.1925: it is commissioned by the Syndicat d’Initiatives from Natura Films in Paris; who turns it in the summer; two members of the syndicate play the extras: Abel and Pierre Delanne (the characters wearing a boater’s headdress). The following October 13, the tourist office viewed the film, which cost 2,500 F. On October 29, it was shown to the public in the cinema then located on Place Ziegler – the entrance price was 3 F and it was unique. ; given the success of the session, a second screening took place on November 3 (Copyright archives onrsonnelles de Chantal Andriot

On October 29, it was shown to the public in the cinema then located on Place Ziegler – the entrance price was 3 F and it was unique. ; given the success of the session, a second screening took place on November 3 (Copyright archives onrsonnelles de Chantal Andriot

). The DVD of “Langres 1925” remains available

at the tourist office. Price: €5.

Artist Hidreley uses artificial intelligence to surprise us again, a trick to free up RAM in Windows 11, one of the most powerful characters in JK Rowling’s novels missing from the movies.

A week full of varied news at Tom’s Guide: while the artist Hidreley transforms cartoon heroes into realistic characters thanks to artificial intelligence, Tesla announces that it wants to punish drivers who adjust their seats too often. We explain how to free up memory on Windows 11 and why the character of Peeves does not appear in the Harry Potter films. We welcome you to the recap of the week.

Our favorite animated characters… realistic version!

Artist Hidreley Diao has once again used artificial intelligence to show us what some cartoon characters would look like in real life. We thus discover Pocahontas, Aladdin, Peter Pan or even some protagonists of the Simpsons. Do not hesitate to take a look at our news to discover the bluffing result of the creator.

Harry Potter: why is Peeves absent from the films?

In JK Rowling’s novels, one of the most powerful characters is Peeves the Poltergeist, a spell-immune spirit who resides at Hogwarts and spends his time troubling students and teachers. Even if we still don’t know why this character is absent from the Harry Potter films, we can imagine that Peeves brought nothing essential to the story. The scenes shot with actor Rik Mayall in the role of Peeves for Harry Potter at the Sorcerer’s Stone had also been cut during editing.

Moto G200: attractive but incomplete

With the Moto G200, Motorola offers a new high-end gaming smartphone that will appeal with its large screen and 144 Hz display frequency, the power of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888+ or its 5000 mAh battery. We regret the absence of an OLED screen, headphone jack and microSD reader and we were disappointed by the moderately fast charge. The Moto G200 remains an interesting model for gamers who don’t want to spend more than 500 euros.

Even if the construction is not exciting and rather repetitive, the result is satisfactory and we end up with a beautiful, slender exhibition piece with a nice pixelated effect. Of the three parts that make up the final rendering, it must be recognized that Dr. Robotnik is unfortunately completely missed. This is an exhibition set that should amuse nostalgics and retrogamers.

This weekend, get ready to exterminate monsters with a single punch in One-Punch Man ; to laugh with the family in front of The Big Bad Fox and Other Tales ; and go hunting for Replicants again in Blade Runner 2049.

What movies and series to watch on Netflix this weekend?

An anime that upsets the codes: One-Punch Man

Synopsis

In a society where superheroes fight monsters every day, Saitama trained daily for three years, until losing his hair, to become a hero. Except that he is now too strong and a single punch is enough to destroy his opponents. So now he’s bored.

The opinion of CNET France

Usually, the hero in drool against a villain, overcomes his limits to defeat him, then gains power as the trials progress. Usually. Corn One-Punch Man doesn’t want to do like everyone else and that’s why we love him. Here, the hero is already the strongest. And that’s the whole point of this anime from the eponymous manga, because the important thing, at least in this first season, is not so much the fight as the comic discrepancy it creates.

With humor and derision, we are thus presented with ever more monstrous adversaries, in appearance and in power, facing Saitama whose appearance is of an exemplary, even ridiculous banality, who despairs of having a challenge worthy of him.

The anime will thus play on our expectations by constantly feigning serious threat while its hero is literally invincible. This does not prevent the animation from taking care of its action, which is always explosive, especially when other heroes get involved.

Far from the archetype, the “One-Punch Man” is thus an everyday man with whom one could almost identify. Almost. Let it be said, here, nonchalance is a super power.

A nice film for young and old: The Big Bad Fox and other tales

Synopsis

In the countryside one encounters strange phenomena. A fox who plays the hen, a rabbit forced to play the stork and a duck who wants to replace Santa Claus. In short, it’s a mess.

The opinion of CNET France

On lance The Big Bad Fox and Other Tales hoping that the film will appeal to children, we finish it completely forgetting that we have kids. With tenderness, humor and originality, Benjamin Renner and Patrick Imbert amaze us throughout.

The dad ofErnest and Celestine demonstrates once again what a magnificent storyteller he is, from the introduction in the form of a play to the drawing of the curtains. The animation in the form of watercolor drawings offers a form of softness, lightness that takes us through these three different tales.

But the feature film especially tells a lot by addressing these three stories, especially about the family, regardless of whether it is composed, recomposed or adopted. Without moralization, The big bad fox speaks as much to adults as to the youngest and never forgets to make us laugh – thanks in particular to an exceptional dubbing.

A funny, poetic, enchanting, marvelous film… We only have one thing to say: “Hello ma’am !“.

The successful sequel to a cult film: Blade Runner 2049

Synopsis

In the year 2049, Officer K hunts down bioengineered slaves who have decided to no longer obey humans. But when he uncovers a dark secret, he too is hunted. His only hope may be Rick Deckard, a former Blade Runner who has been missing for several years.

The opinion of CNET France

How to pass after the masterpiece of Ridley Scott ? On paper, Blade Runner 2049 has everything of the suicide mission, especially since the original did not call for any sequel. MEA culpa, we had forgotten the five names in charge of the project: Ridley Scott himself supervising the project, the return of the original screenwriter Hampton Fancher and Denis Villeneuve on camera, Roger Deakins to the picture and Hans Zimmer to the music.

A collaboration that gives birth to a sequel that is both very respectful of its model while further exploring its mythology. The film even copies its pace from its elder with its slow exposition and narrative construction that leaves more questions than it answers. This is perhaps what can stop more than one: if you did not like the first Blade Runner, there is no point in embarking on this second episode as it shows exemplary loyalty.

And if Blade Runner 2049 impresses, it is not more on a scenario which wants to be voluntarily foggy and frustrating, especially concerning certain characters, than by its visual beauty. Between the photo of Deakins and the staging of Villeneuve, the feature film is a slap in every shot. Difficult to blink without fear of losing a crumb.

Risky bet, but successful, with 2049 Blade Runner is now conjugated in the plural.

For years, Channing Tatum was positioned to join Marvel as Gambit in a film of the same name. For months, fans have been showered with updates about a project that comic book fans have been waiting for. Unfortunately, the star of Magic Mike and 21 Jump Street was not entitled to his feature film since 20th Century Fox canceled it. If the actor now tries his hand at directing with Dog, co-directed with Reid Carolin. A film scheduled for February 18 in which a Ranger and his dog drive at top speed along the Pacific coast to arrive in time for the funeral of a comrade. If we could believe that Channing Tatum had mourned Gambit, this is not necessarily the case.

Interviewed by Variety (via ScreenRant), the actor makes a funny confidence.

Since the cancellation of Gambit, Channing Tatum can’t watch Marvel movies anymore.

Channing Tatum felt very close to Gambit

Channing Tatum did not digest the cancellation of Gambit and made a drastic decision. Since the project is no longer in the works, the actor no longer watches Marvel films. Yet ubiquitous for almost ten years on our screens, the star of Magic Mike avoids the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It must be said that the actor felt ready to play Gambit and felt a lot of love for the character.

Once Gambit was cancelled, I was so traumatized. I turned off the Marvel machine. I haven’t watched any of the movies. I loved this character, I’m just too sad. It’s like losing a friend because I was so ready to embody it.

Channing Tatum

Marvel fans now have to deal with the cancellation of Gambit. 20th Century Fox has never disclosed the reasons for this decision. But one thing is certain: if the project were to be revived, Channing Tatum seems ready to return!

Unfortunately for the star’s fans, Dog does not have a cinema release date in France.
