Disney+ usually displays Marvel movies chronologically. But, an error has recently crept into the platform.

Until now, Disney+ displayed Black Panther (Marvel) before the adventures of Black Widow. Big mistake ! Fortunately, the streaming platform has just corrected the situation. MCE TV explains everything from A to Z!

The Marvel Universe takes a big place on Disney+

After Netflix, Disney+ emerged as a streaming platform. For 8.99 euros per month, so you can have access to Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic or Star content. Suffice to say that there is a choice!

What’s more, you can consult the series, films, cartoons and reports, whether on television, computer, tablet, telephone, console and many other mediums. Brilliant !

And you are particularly a fan of superheroes, there too you will be served. Right now on Disney+ there’s Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and Doctor Strange. But also Black Panther, AntMan or Black Widow.

To help you in your research, the platform has decided to list the Marvel Universe chronologically. In other words, in the order in which the events occurred.

Only, according to our colleagues from Phonandroid, there was a little hiccup. When users were looking to view content related to Black Widow (aka the Black Widow), they realized that it was displayed right after the adventures of Black Panther. Which is wrong !

Fortunately, Disney+ quickly realized this error and fixed it. However, this had no real impact on comprehension since the two films take place a few days apart, just after the events of Civil War.

If you want learn more about it, we invite you to continue reading. The MCE TV editorial staff gives you more details, later in this article.

Black Widow unavailable on the platform in France?

After reading this article, you have surely rushed to Disney+ in order to Black Widow. Well no ! Because what our colleagues do not specify is that the error occurred abroad.

Indeed, the film was released on July 7, 2021 in France. Unlike other countries, our streaming platforms are governed by strong regulations. Eh yes !

Whether it’s Netflix, Amazon Video or even Disney+… All must wait 36 months after the release of a film in order to be able to distribute it. The timing hasn’t expired yet.

Be aware, however, that negotiations are underway to reduce the delivery times. Yes, yes, you heard very well. It could then go from 36 months to 17 months for video-on-demand services.

Except for Netflix of course! Managers want at all costs stand out from the others. They could probably just wait 15 months. That’s two months less than the others. In return, the American company will have to provide a certain amount of money to productions.

Well say so! This is abouta real asset to attract other subscribers. And you, what do you think of this new release schedule ? For or against? Your keyboards !

Why not start the week in the best possible way, with a good series or a good movie available on Netflix? The SVoD streaming platform offers a multitude of excellent programs, but it is never easy to find the right one. The editorial staff of CNET France is therefore there to help you choose, and recommends two quality programs to discover, or to review.

Subscribe to Netflix >

For tonight, CNET France therefore recommends the film Room, and the series After Life.

What movies and series to watch on Netflix tonight?

A moving film adapted from a true story: Room

Synopsis

Jack, 5, lives alone with his mother, Ma. She teaches him to play, to laugh and to understand the world around him. A world that begins and ends at the walls of their bedroom, where they are held prisoner, the only place Jack has ever known. Ma’s love for Jack drives her to risk everything to give her son a chance to escape and experience the outdoors, an adventure he was unprepared for.

The opinion of CNET France

Adapted from the eponymous novel by Emma Donoghue, itself based on the true story of the Fritzl Affair, and of this father who had kidnapped his daughter for years, Room is a film as staggering by the horror of what it tells, as it is fascinating by the beauty and the disarming poetry that it manages to invoke despite its subject.

Director Lenny Abrahamson’s vision (Frank, series Normal People) gives this terrifying news item the appearance of a story of tenderness and love between a mother and her child. Room is first of all about this intimate huis-clos, this touching and childish world in the world, this “room” in which a multitude of small gestures and unspoken things are woven which leave the spectator in a comforting unknown, like the young Jack.

The film then changes scale and scope, moving from this intimate drama to the genre of the detective, brilliantly unraveling everything it had put in place from the start. From the place of the child, the spectator takes that of his mother, for a poignant and hard-hitting second act. If the young Jacob Tremblay is an obvious revelation in the role of Jack, Brie Larson is overwhelming. The rest of the cast, which includes the excellent Joan Allen and William H. Macy, is in tune.

Room is a drama with an unpublished and captivating story, which will know how to pick you up with its accuracy and its astonishing poetry and its unique personality. A must in recent years, and a little gem to see or see again without hesitation.

A comic and touching series: After Life

Synopsis

Tony had a perfect life, but when his wife Lisa suddenly dies, Tony changes. After contemplating suicide, he instead decides to live long enough to punish the world…

The opinion of CNET France

Creation of Ricky Gervais, humorist and brilliant creator behind the series The Office, Extras and Derek, After Life is a comical and acid little gem, but also tender and melancholic. To discover absolutely, while the third and final season has just been released.

If the unhappy basic postulate can put off at first glance, After Life reveals itself as the episodes go by as a series more comforting and deep than it looks. The program reveals a touching bittersweet tone, mixed with caustic moments of humor, and characteristic of the style of Ricky Gervais.

The series deals with questions of mourning, depression, life in society, and the meaning of life with astonishing finesse and gentleness. We find the acuity and intelligence of writing of Ricky Gervais who knows, as in his previous productions, to be an excellent painter of humanity.

The British director-screenwriter-actor wonderfully embodies this hurt and resentful man towards life, and takes the opportunity to strike some truths about the world, society and people, for our greatest pleasure. And in three seasons and 18 episodes, After Life ultimately reveals a much warmer, optimistic and humanistic heart than its synopsis might suggest.

A series will undoubtedly delight you with its caustic humor, its unique tone, and the touching look of Ricky Gervais on the beauty of ordinary life.

The master of the apocalypse Roland Emmerich is back with “Moonfall”, an apocalyptic film in which the Moon, thrown out of its orbit, threatens to crash into Earth. While waiting to discover this explosive blockbuster in the cinema, from next February 9, and to travel in space alongside Patrick Wilson, here are the 4 most spectacular films made by the German filmmaker.

«Independence Day» (1996)

Released in 1996, “Independence Day” garnered more than 733 million euros in revenue worldwide. This sci-fi film, which received the Oscar for best visual effects, depicts an invasion of frightening aliens determined to destroy humanity, which Captain Steven Hiller, a brilliant fighter pilot, played by Will Smith , tries to send them home, together with the President of the United States Thomas J. Whitmore (Bill Pullman) and a computer analyst played by Jeff Goldblum.

“The Day After” (2004)

Eight years later, in 2004, “The day after” arrives in dark rooms. In this titanic special effects feature film, climatologist Jack Hall, played by Dennis Quaid, warns that global warming will wreak havoc on a global scale, with tornadoes, hail and other floods. However, he didn’t think this ice age would come so quickly. While alerting the authorities to the need to evacuate the whole country, the President of the United States refuses to hear him, and the worst happens.

«2012» (2009)

For the film “2012”, released in 2009, the director was inspired by the Mayan prophecy. According to this civilization, the calendar ends in 2012, thus bringing about the end of our world. A terrifying conclusion that geologist Adrian Helmsle, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor, comes to confirm by noting changes in the earth’s structure. Three years later, cataclysms of incredible violence actually hit the globe. Like many others, Jackson Curtis, played by John Cusack, tries to save his family from chaos.

«Independence Day : Resurgence» (2016)

Twenty years after “Independence Day”, he signs “Independence Day: Resurgence”, a sequel in which the Earth is once again threatened with extinction. To protect it, all nations have collaborated in a defense program exploiting formerly recovered alien technology. But only the ingenuity and courage of a few individuals can save humanity from extinction. Carried once again by caustic special effects, the feature film stars Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, and Bill Pullman.

We talked more about ourselves than about the film.”

We talked more about ourselves than about the film.”

“After a week of shooting, there was no longer any question of talking to each other about the vision we had of the scenes, the words or the silences; everything was done almost naturally, in a certain fusion, in the common vision of the film. that we had him and me,” continued Marconi. “It was almost confusing to see how he became another, he embodied Simon as I had imagined, that is to say not very far from me.”

In January 1962, Sean Connery donned the James Bond costume for the very first time when the first claps were given on the set of “Dr. No”. A look back at the first of twenty-five 007 films, with expert Laurent Perriot.

And for the very first time, his name was Bond, James Bond. Apart from the little-known Casino Royale of 1954, it was in 1962 that the most famous secret agent really came to life on screen. It’s January 16, and Sean Connery takes his first steps as 007, in front of Terence Young’s camera, in James Bond 007 vs. Dr. No.

While the franchise and Daniel Craig offered a new end to the character in Dying can wait last year, a look back at the birth of James Bond in the cinema with expert Laurent Perriot (www.facebook.com/LaurentPerriotOfficial), co-founder of the James Bond fan club in France in 1989 and author of the books Good Kisses of the World (2020) and The cult replicas of the Saga Bond (2021). An interview in 007 questions, of course.

AlloCiné: We are celebrating the 60th anniversary of the start of the filming of “Dr. No”. What do we know about the media coverage of this event at the time? Was it precisely an event or a “lambda” film?

Laurent Perriot: “Formidable !” enthused Ian Fleming at the London premiere. The spectators will follow with the same joy. James Bond 007 vs. Dr. No is perceived as a film that dusts off the spy films of the 1930s.

How was Sean Connery chosen for the role?

It was Dana Broccoli, wife of Cubby Broccoli, who was the first to suggest Sean Connery for the role of James Bond after seeing him in the Disney film Darby O’Gill and the Sprites. She is the source of his choice. For the role of Dr. No, Ian Fleming first asked his friends and a resident of Jamaica, Noel Coward, to play the character. All refused. Christopher Lee, a distant cousin of Fleming, also turned down the role, although he would later play Scaramanga in The Man with the Golden Gun. Terence Young, meanwhile, would have loved Cary Crant.

How did “Dr. No” already lay all the foundations for what will make the James Bond franchise?

Before being considered as the beginning of a franchise, this first part establishes a formula: luxury, exoticism, glamour, adventure and action. James Bond 007 vs. Dr. No also incorporates geopolitical tensions: the scenario makes the action, contrary to the usual narratives of the genre. And from the credits – a stylized creation by Maurice Binder -, the iconography is in place: Bond seen in the barrel of a revolver, he shoots, blood covers the screen, female silhouettes and dreamlike images appear.. This iconography will become emblematic. Another ingredient, the immediate use of the main musical theme, an instrumental score written by Monty Norman, arranged and re-orchestrated by John Barry. Without forgetting the incredible perspectives of Ken Adam’s sets.

Among the cult sequences of the film, there is obviously Ursula Andress / Honey Rider coming out of the water. What do we know behind the scenes of this scene?

Its appearance literally marked the history of cinema, becoming a cult scene, immediately injected into the Western collective unconscious. It is a plan freely inspired by The birth of Venus by Botticelli. The James Bond Girl myth was born… To create this legendary piece, Ursula Andress and costume designer Tessa Prendergast worked together: the bikini consists of a bra tied on the chest and a triangle, all in ivory cotton. The particularity of this very simple two-piece: a belt fitted on the hips and a notch on the side to support a dagger. This detail gives literal meaning to the concept of femme fatale. The beach where Honey Rider appears emerging from the water, adjoining Ian Fleming’s estate (baptized GoldenEye) and indicated to the film crew by Chris Blackwell, will later be renamed ‘James Bond Beach’.

Ian Fleming died in 1964, two years after the film was released. Was he able to visit the set?

Yes, Ian Fleming largely attended the filming of the film in Jamaica (where he otherwise resided). He saw and
liked the movie. He also attended and saw the next one, Kisses from Russia. He also visited the set of the third James Bond film, Goldfinger, but died before seeing the film.

As a 007 expert, did you have the opportunity to meet veterans of this first shoot? What memories do they keep?

I had the chance to meet Terence Young at home in Cannes for a long afternoon. Inventive, he used many tricks to compensate for the lack of financial means of the production: precision of the framing, alternation of interior and exterior shots, flamboyant colors… It was also Terence Young who shaped the image of James Bond and gave him his style, bringing Sean Connery at his own tailor on Savill Row.

Can you share some anecdotes unknown to the general public around this film?

Bonus question for the fan that you are: do you remember your first discovery of “Dr. No”? What memories do you have of it? What does the film represent for you?

I discovered the film in the early 80s on VHS, then a few years later finally on the big
screen when exiting. In the midst of Roger Moore’s glorious period, I inevitably found the film “a bit old-fashioned” at the time, but I immediately understood the impact and the strength of Sean Connery. And of course I was struck by the basic elements and foundations that forged the cinematographic saga.

In April 2021, we learned that Netflix had spent $469 million for the rights to the franchise. At loggerheads. Director Rian Johnson and producer Ram Bergman then hit the jackpot: $100 million each. Just like the main actor of the film, Daniel Craig. While he received “only” 25 million dollars for his last James Bond, Dying can wait, Daniel Craig being offered a colossal sum to shoot two films that will be the sequel to At loggerheads. He will therefore resume his role as private detective, Benoit Blanc.

In the first film, released in 2019, Benoît Blanc was to elucidate the death of Harlan Thrombey, a famous thriller author found dead in his large and beautiful house, on the evening of his 85th birthday. At loggerheads lasted a little over two hours and oscillated between twists, betrayals, and a very British humor that was going to hit the bull’s eye all over the world. The feature film thus brought in more than 300 million dollars in box office revenue (320 million exactly), a real surprise. Just like that of not releasing the two suites in the cinema.

By assigning the rights to the consequences of At loggerheads at Netflix, Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman and therefore Daniel Craig are renouncing a theatrical release. A bet that could be a winner since Netflix has more than 200 million subscribers worldwide and offers a showcase like no other. When we see the successes of Red Notice Where Don’t Look Up lately, we think that this strategy can pay off. Especially since the proposed cast will again be at the top of the range. Variety thus indicates that Ethan Hawke, Edward Norton, Kathryn Hahn, Kate Hudson, or even Janelle Monáe should be there. What to satisfy those who had appreciated this film equivalent to a giant Cluedo where Chris Evans and Ana de Armas shone in the first film. The American magazine also specifies that the continuation of At loggerheads should be available on Netflix during the fourth quarter of 2022. We will be there.

CINEMA – Television channels, broadcasters and cinema stakeholders have reached an agreement on a new media chronology which must be signed at 12:30 p.m. under the aegis of Roselyne Bachelot, this Monday, January 24, we learned from the Ministry of Culture.

A hot topic, the media timeline governs when movies can be released, online and on TV in particular, in the months following their theatrical release. The new agreement, the result of months of negotiations, integrates subscription video platforms for the first time.

These rules, which must protect creation, have been the subject of intense negotiations since the rise of streaming platforms which has upset the situation.

If its terms will only be set in stone after signing, the new agreement should allow Canal +, a major financier of French cinema, to retain its first place in broadcasting, six months after the theatrical release, according to a source familiar with the matter. .

The goal? More money for French cinema

Platforms, such as Disney+, Netflix or Amazon Prime, will come next, depending on their contribution to film production. They will be able to broadcast the films between 12 and 17 months after their release. They will thus pass in front of the free television channels, which will be able to do the same 22 months after the theatrical release, added this source.

Overall, the agreement should allow more money to be injected into French film production, she said.

The organizations representing cinema and Canal+ had already announced in December that they had reached an agreement on the subject, the encrypted channel offering a “guaranteed investment of more than 600 million euros for the next three years in French and European cinema. for Canal+ and Ciné+”, putting a little more pressure to reach an agreement with the platforms.

The latter, like Netflix, demanded a better position in the media timeline in exchange for their creative funding obligations. The stakeholders had to agree before the beginning of February, otherwise the ball would pass into the government’s court to decide.
