IPSTVlogurlsmIPS is pleased to share with you content produced for the “Food and Media Talks” by IPSTV during the 38th Biennial Conference of the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO), this past week June 15-22, in Rome.

The “Food and Media Talks”, transmitted daily, marked the pilot phase of the daily programs of IPSTV which will begin in September 2013.

Further to the daily media talks, IPSTV had the opportunity to interview Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen and the President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro.

IPSTVlogurlsmWhen IPS director general, Mario Lubetkin, announced at Rio+20 that IPS was branching out into WebTV to keep pace with the advances of digital technology, he emphasized that, “IPSTV will be much more than a visual cousin of the print product”.

During these past months, there has been intense work in Rome and around the world to build a team of professionals to manage the newly born IPSTV. Among first steps, IPSTV selected IPS journalists from Africa, Asia, Latin America, North America, the Middle East and Europe to come to Rome headquarters to undergo an intense week-long video reporting training.
