Thalif Deen, UN Bureau Chief for Inter Press Service (IPS) news agency and Regional Director North America, won one of the highest honours for excellence in UN reporting at the annual awards ceremony hosted by the UN Correspondents’ Association (UNCA) in New York.

IPS journalists have had a winning week in the Caribbean, in Africa and in Latin America.

Two of our journalists have won climate change reporting prizes awarded by the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI) and the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA). The awards ceremony was yesterday, 17th October, in Antigua. Read more »

Inter Press Service (IPS) Washington DC bureau is looking for a reporter-intern.

Responsibilities include:

Liaising with press representatives from think tanks, non-profits and U.S. government agencies to contribute to IPS’s weekly news agenda.

Conducting interviews with government officials, experts, representatives of international agencies and human-rights organisations and other individuals.
