IPS journalist Busani Bafana received the prestigious FAO 70th Anniversary Medal, in recognition for his work in the field of development journalism and for tackling issues that are of critical importance to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

Dr. David Phiri, FAO Sub-regional Coordinator Southern Africa & FAO Representative in Zimbabwe, oversaw the award to Busani Bafana.
