ALI IDRISSOU–TOURÉ, French Service Editor Ali Idrissou–Touré is the Francophone editor for IPS Africa: based in Cotonou, Benin, he manages a network of reporters that extends throughout French–speaking regions of the continent. Before joining IPS in 2001, Ali worked as deputy editor–in–chief of the Pan–African News Agency’s bureau in Senegal for several years, and has also been a correspondent in Benin for Reuters. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Abidjan in Côte d’Ivoire –– and a post–graduate diploma in journalism from the Ecole Sup érieure de Journalisme in Lille, France. |

STEVEN LANG, Africa Water Wire editor Steven Lang edits and contributes to the Southern Africa Water Wire, an IPS site that highlights issues concerning the provision of safe drinking water to inhabitants of the region. He coordinates with the Editor in Chief and is part of the IPS editorial team. Steven also works as an executive producer for a leading current affairs programme on SAfm, the national English radio service. For several years, he was the South African Broadcasting Corporation’s (SABC) key reporter on the country’s disengagement from the war in Angola and the occupation of Namibia. OLGA AKONDÉ, Translator Olga Akondé translates IPS features into French for the agency, and is based at its office in Cotonou. She joined IPS in 2007 after several years of teaching English at secondary school level in Benin; Olga has also worked as a freelance interpreter for ministries and international organisations. She has a Master’s degree in English from the University of Abomey–Calavi in Benin. |

KWAMBOKA OYARO, Correspondent Kwamboka Oyaro is the East Africa correspondent for IPS, covering a broad range of political, economic and social issues for the agency from her base in Nairobi, Kenya. She began work for IPS in 2007, having previously been employed as a journalist at the Nation Media Group in Kenya. Kwamboka is about to receive her Master’s degree in communication from the University of Nairobi. |
