IPS Asia-Pacific



Set up in the 1980s, IPS Asia Pacific has overseen the direction of IPS work in the areas of editorial and media development in the region. Today, IPS Asia Pacific Center Foundation Inc. is duly registered in Bangkok, Thailand and Manila, the Philippines.

IPS Asia Pacific develops and undertakes regional news products. News and communication projects include: training and fellowships, development of media tools, production of conference newspapers, publication and editing of books and reports, and development of websites. IPS Asia Pacific receives support from the IPS International Association , and from regional partners that include or have included the Rockefeller Foundation, Asian Development Bank, Oxfam America, Sasakawa Peace Foundation, Japan Foundation, ILO Informal Economy Project, UNICEF East Asia and the Pacific, ActionAid International, Ford Foundation, U.N. Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific and the U.N. Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation.

IPS Asia–Pacific works with a network of writers and contributors coordinated by a regional editor and writing from places that include Bangalore, Bangkok, Beijing, Canberra, Chiang Mai, Colombo, Dhaka, Dubai, Ho Chi Minh City, Islamabad, Kabul, Kuala Lumpur, Karachi, Kathmandu, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Penang, Peshawar, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, Suva, Tehran and Tokyo. IPS Asia–Pacific publishes translations of selected news stories and editorial products in: Bahasa Indonesia, Hindi, Khmer, Nepali, Thai and Tamil.
