IPS Asia-Pacific - Projects and Publications
|
IPS Asia-Pacific is engaged in a number of media and communication projects, often undertaken jointly with regional or international partners.
Special mention goes to the Imaging Our Mekong (www.newsmekong.org) media fellowship programme, which IPS Asia-Pacific has been implementing with Probe Media Foundation Inc. since 2002. The programme is open to journalists from the Mekong countries — China, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Lao PDR and Vietnam — who work in print media, photojournalism and television. IPS Asia-Pacific also organises exhibits of quality photographs from the journalist-fellows who take part in the annual programme. Exhibits have been held in Thailand, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, India and Australia, among others.
Other projects include: the Asia Water Wire (www.asiawaterwire.net), (www.ipsnewsasia.net/bridgesfromasia) exploring issues linking Asia with North America and Europe, coordination of Asia Media Forum website (www.asiamediaforum.org), and participation in the Mekong Programme on Water Environment and Resilience (www.mpowernet.org).
