IPS Africa, with the support of the Heinrich Boll Foundation Southern Africa, has published a handbook for journalists titled Climate Governance in Africa. It was launched recently in Abuja, Nigeria at a climate governance consultative workshop for journalists.
The handbook covers key areas such as mainstreaming climate policies, gender and climate change, climate finance and market based mechanisms for mitigation adaptation.
Journalists are also advised on best practices in reporting on climate governance and given ideas on how to bring in climate governance perspectives into stories that would otherwise be considered as unrelated.
Understanding climate governance issues in Africa will help reporters put a human face to their stories while addressing the often complex and technical issues surrounding this subject.More about: Africa, Global
