As part of its commitment to capacity-building in the field of media and communication, IPS offers Internship Programmes to people aspiring to become journalists.
IPS’ Internship Programmes are best suited to students (at the Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree level) who are following academic courses in journalism, media communications, international affairs or environmental studies. The specific activities undertaken in each case depend on the particular circumstances and needs of the IPS office sponsoring the intern. In most cases, interns can be expected to support the overall functioning of the IPS office they are working with, through tasks such as research, fact checking, monitoring the usage and publication of stories, and support of events. In all cases, IPS internships offer a unique opportunity to experience first-hand the inner workings of a complex and exciting news agency, in an international environment.
IPS’ flagship Internship Programme is hosted by the IPS UN Bureau in New York. If you wish to know more about the programme or with to send an application, please visit the UN office internship page, where all the relevant information is provided.
