The right people for each project
We have developed an extensive roster of highly qualified trainers who reflect the IPS Centre’s values and commitment to providing capacity-building tailored to each situation and the needs of each specific group. Current and former IPS staff from all regions constitutes an important part of this growing roster.
Trainers offer a diversity of skills and expertise, including reporting and editing, media management, civil society communication and campaigning, and government communication and issue expertise.
The IPS Centre staff has extensive experience in designing and carrying out innovative and successful training programmes.
We network and maintain alliances with other qualified training organisations offering capacity-building in a development context and local NGOs to round out our customised local training teams.
The IPS News Agency structure covers 140 countries and provides links with mass media and national, regional and international civil society organisations and networks worldwide.
Geographic scope and working languages
We have conducted media, civil society and communication capacity-building projects in every region of the world. We have specific expertise and experience in conflict and post-conflict societies. With our global capacity, we can operate successfully at local, national, regional and international levels. Capacity-building is most effective when it can be carried out in the local language. The IPS Centre can provide training in Arabic, Bahasa, Bengali, Chinese, Dari-Farsi, English, Filipino, French, Fukien, German, Hindi, Italian, Mandarin, Pashto, Portuguese, Punjabi, Sinhalese, Spanish, Swahili, Tamil, Thai, Urdu, Vietnamese and Wolof.
