October 10 was the World Day Against the Death Penalty. IPS intensified its coverage of the issue with stories that highlighted the failure of the systems that administer the ultimate punishment, from feature stories about DNA proving innocent people have been executed; to intimate profiles of people either who have been put to death or are on death row mistakenly.
