Martti Ahtisaari, President of Finland 1994-2000, and member of the IPS Board of Trustees has won the Nobel Peace Prize “for his important efforts, on several continents and over more than three decades, to resolve international conflicts”. President Ahtisaari contributed to peace processes in Namibia, Indonesian Aceh and Kosovo, and is the founder and chairman of Crisis Management Initiative (CMI). IPS joins the global community in congratulating him on this honour.
