Diana Cariboni Diana Cariboni has been the Regional Editor of IPS Latin America since March 2003. She is responsible for the IPS World Service in Spanish and overall journalistic production in Latin America, Spain and Portugal. Since March 2007, she has been editorial director of Tierramérica, a weekly service about environment and sustainable development published by more than 20 Latin American newspapers. She handles a team of editors, translators and writers across the region, coordinates with the Editor in Chief, and forms part of the IPS Editorial Team. She began her career as a journalist in 1992 working for various media outlets in Uruguay, such as El Observador and El País newspapers, and Sarandí and Setiembre FM radio stations. Besides specialising in technology, science, and public health, she has written research articles on these subjects. Diana also worked as a writer on international politics, economy and environment for the Third World Institute publications (a subsidiary of the Third World Network). She is married and the mother of five children. She was born in Argentina in 1962 and has lived in Uruguay since 1984. Diana joined the agency in 2001. |
