Kudzai Makombe

Kudzai Makombe, Regional Director ­ IPS Africa

Kudzai Makombe has worked in the development sector for 19 years as a development communicator. She has worked previously with IPS Africa as a radio editor and supported our gender work. She has great experience as a fundraiser, manager, editor and evaluator.

Prior to joining IPS, Kudzai worked as a development communications and gender consultant, proving communications, training and project management services to various organisations, including the SADC Parliamentary Forum, where she was gender advisor.

She has worked with various development organizations, UN agencies, government departments and regional institutions on a variety of development initiatives ranging from rural development to gender, HIV and AIDS, governance, democracy and media, including media training.
She has extensive experience of the development sector in southern Africa particularly and Africa in general.

Kudzai graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Economic History from the University of Zimbabwe and a Masters in Policy Studies (Public Policy and Governance Frameworks) from the Southern African Regional Institute for Policy Studies (SARIPS), a joint programme between the universities of Fort Hare, South Africa, Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
