The Population Institute has named IPS Most Conscientious News Service as part of the Institute’s

2007 Global Media Awards for Excellence in Population Reporting.

IPS has been singled out for its independent news and analysis of events and global processes affecting the economic, social and political development of peoples and nations, especially in the Southern hemisphere.Special mention was given to United Nations Bureau Chief, Thalif Deen, whose many articles have brought attention to specific population issues and whose work has been featured several times on the PI web site.
