IPS Africa led a team of reporters that produced ten days of outstanding coverage of the climate change negotiations that took place in Durban, South Africa over the past weeks. During the last four days of the official negotiations a twelve-page printed TerraViva supplement was included daily as part of The New Age newspaper, distributed inside the conference hall to the delegates and to its usual readership across KwaZulu Natal province.

The annual IPS Support Group Meeting, was held in Venice, Italy, on November 29, 2007. The meeting focused on “The role of communication in the alliance among civilizations”. The event was co-organized with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and counted on the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Province of Venice. Read more »

Mario Lubetkin, IPS Director General, travelled to Brazil from 26 to 27 June 2007 to attend a meeting organized by the Brazilian government in the frame of India-Brazil-South Africa Initiative (IBSA) and to give continuity to discussions held in Rio during IPS meetings in 2006 where possible ways of cooperation between IPS and IBSA were identified.
