IPS Africa is excited to announce the launch of two mini-sites. The first one, From Polls to Polls, is part of the Women and Elections in Africa project. This site will carry news and resources about women and elections in Africa. The second mini-site is the Southern Africa Water Wire which provides in-depth coverage of water and related issues in SADC. While focusing on SADC, the site will also link to water news in Africa and globally. A part-time editor, Steve Lang has been hired in Johannesburg to work on the project.

UN Democracy Fund – IPS is delighted to be among the first recipients of a grant from the new UN Democracy Fund. Only 125 out of more than 1,300 applications were successful so we did well.
