Inter Press Service (IPS) is pleased to announce the publication of the book “Comunicacion y desarrollo: en busca de la coherencia”, published in collaboration with Fundacion Carolina and the International University Menendez Pelayo (UIMP).

The book is the outcome of a seminar organized in Santander, Spain by IPS and Fundacion Carolina during the summer of 2007, which analysed the role of communication in development cooperation. The book contains speeches and reflections of participants to the seminar. The aim of the book is to contribute to cooperation communication policies.

The preface is by Juan Pablo de Laiglesia, Director, Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECI), and the editors are Raquel-Gomez Martinez, Spanish writer, and Mario Lubetkin,Raquel-Gomez Martinez, Juan Pablo de Laiglesia, Mario Lubetkin IPS Director General. Among contributors are communication experts Ignacio Ramonet and Pinar Agudiez; development cooperation agency representative, Manuel Iglesia-Caruncho; communication specialists from development agencies Henny Helmich, Henri Bernard Solignac and Pablo Baz; as well as journalists and authors who give valuable contributions about key challenges faced by communication and development.
